Hey Kids!  I hope you had fun with Teacher Lisa this week.  I missed you all and am looking forward to being back in class this week.  Thank you Teacher Lisa for filling in for me.  :)
Yoga is our plan for this week.  If you have a yoga mat at home that you can bring to class, please do.
Girls, please no dresses as we will be doing a lot of bending and stretching!
and remember your water bottle.

Wow!  Did my students ever impress me as much as they did today?  What a remarkable day....
I had such a high level of cooperation, and responsibility today; it was simply awesome.  Thank you!
We had some new, first time ever activities, and it seemed everyone was having fun.  and even learned a bit in the process.
I did notice that students are still coming to class without a water bottle.  Please, this is an important part of this class, for your kids health and safety.  Remember, this class is at the end of our day, and most of our kids don't drink enough water throughout the day anyway.  To ask them to be physically active, and mentally alert puts a strain on them at this age, anyway. (or so it seems in most cases.)  To ask this of them while they are running a quart low, is just not fair.  Your car does not run well without oil - our bodies do not function well without water.  The water faucet downstairs does not work.  Please, bring a water bottle to class.
We also had one pair of flip-flops in class.  Please, proper athletic footwear is essential.  Luckily, our activities today did not require the use of our shoes.  In the future, we will send students to the core room, if they are not dressed appropriately for the activity.

What a great first day of class!  I was happy to see so many returning faces and a few new ones too.  We have a busy year planned again, so please remind your students that they need to bring a water bottle to class.  And proper shoes are a must.
This week, our movement skill focus will be jumping.  Think jump ropes, hopping on one foot, jumping over boxes, jumping jacks....what can you think of?

week 11

Wow !  We are almost done with this semester.  Good job to all of you!
I think that this week we will do circuit training again.  I think we all enjoyed that.
And we will spend a few minutes talking about game ideas for our last class on Dec 13.

Please remember that circuit training is a lot of movement - good athletic shoes are important.  And so is a water bottle.  This class is busy, busy, busy!

PE week 7

Wow.  what a great class last week.  You fit-kids really pulled together for a fun class.  Thank you!
This week we will once again focus on our leg strength and balance as we practice our jumping skills.
Think not only jump-rope, but jumping jacks, bunny hops and even froggy leaps!  So don't forget, good sturdy athletic shoes are really important for safety and injury prevention.  And having a water bottle near-by in always a great idea.

We may be indoors again, due to the rainy weather, so special consideration to noise level is needed.
I have been setting up the hall to have class meet in the middle of the room, as there is a class on the stage and a class in the room adjacent to the kitchen.  Please remind your students to use an inside voice during class time, as much as possible....  :)

PE Week 6

Hey Fit-kids!
Last week yoga was fun.  Learning to stretch and bend our bodies is really good for us.  There are a lot more poses we can learn about next time!  This week we will learn more about strength training.
Having a strong body is important too.  Bring your yoga mat again, if you have one.  We will be on the floor in the fellowship hall again this week.  And don't forget your water bottle!
